Our child-friendly villa in Andalucia

We bought Casa La Sierrecilla in 2001, after a seemingly endless search in Andalucia, and since then we have dedicated ourselves to creating a beautiful Andalucian home that is truly ‘child-friendly’.

Our playroom is the perfect place for children to wind down after a busy morning in the pool. We have plenty of toys for a variety of ages, children’s books and an enormous collection of children’s DVDs.

For parents of young children safety is paramount, and for this reason our pool area is fenced and gated. The Porcelanosa tiles surrounding the pool are non-slip. The pool is also heated to a temperature which allows for more comfortable swimming, while still being refreshing in the summer.

Casa La Sierrecilla stands in a fully enclosed garden of around an acre in size, with lawned areas at the rear and an orchard of fruit and nut trees in front, which provides plenty of space for children to run around and explore. There is a Little Tikes playhouse for younger children.

Inside the villa we provide 2 wooden cots (cot linen is provided), 2 high chairs and specially–made stairgates. Baby equipment includes a baby bath, electric bottle warmer, baby monitor, 3 toddler bed guards, sippy cups, plastic plates and cutlery and Avent microwave steriliser.

Andalucia is the perfect destination for families with children. Most Andalucian food is very popular with children, particularly the little pieces of fried fish! The reasonable prices in the countryside (far lower than on the coast) mean the whole family can enjoy eating out often while on holiday. Children are very welcome in the village bars, however late the hour, and babies will always be the stars of the show!

Casa La Sierrecilla is perfectly located for experiencing the best of Andalucia, whether it be unforgettable historic sites, stunning countryside or seaside fun! Local outings that children will particularly enjoy will be the Donkey Sanctuary at Fuente de Piedra (just 10 minutes away) and the Wolf Park in Antequera, while slightly older children will enjoy exploring the amazing landscapes of the Torcal National Park, where there are walking trails of varying length. Lovers of miniature landscapes will enjoy the unique new Nativity Scene Museum (Museo de Belenes) just up the road in Mollina. You can reach the beaches of the Costa Del Sol in under an hour and Aqualand Torremolinos is just 50 minutes' drive.
